Today we are excited to announce that ZOO 2.4 is stable now! As always a big thank you to all of our BETA testers! ZOO 2.4 is now available to the public for free. The new release is all about making ZOO Joomla 1.6 compliant. An Event system, Email notifications, Speed improvements: Make sure to read about its new Features in our previous blog post.

Grab your own copy of ZOO 2.4 and take it for a spin.

Important - What about the tools?

For the Joomla 1.5 version of the release, we've decided to add the old ZOO tools. This will make upgrading a lot easier for you guys. If you are running Joomla 1.6, you need to be patient a little while longer. This is due to the fact, that we won't be porting our old ZOO tools to Joomla's new MooTools version 1.3. Of course we are working hard on a replacement for our old Tools. Unfortunately it will take longer than expected. We know you all are eagerly waiting for the new tools... We hope to have a BETA version ready as early as the end of next week.

  All ZOO apps are working with ZOO 2.4. We just removed the single downloads so you have to install the full package to install all apps...

Hey guys,
The 1.5 version of the tools - are those going to be ported to jQuery? Also, will they be converted to the new 1.6 tools at any stage? We've been holding off renewing our subscription until the new tools are loaded, but now it seems we've been waiting in vain. I personally will still be building sites on 1.5 for a good time to come and I was really looking forward to the sexy new and improved tools you guys have mentioned on the blog.

  yes, the new tools will be completely overhauled and jQuery based. They will work with Joomla 1.5, 1.6 and Wordpress... Hopefully we have a BETA ready soon :-)

when when upgraded from 2.3.5 to 2.4 the categories of products shows only single column even after changing to 3 or 4 please rectify.

I absolutely love Zoo 2.4! I'm running it with Joomla 1.6 and it's running great so far, with one exception. I've enabled Joomla plug-ins on a text area element, but it's not rendering plug-ins. I've tried with Phoca Gallery and the JW Player and they both work when the plug-ins are loaded into a Joomla content item, but not a Zoo item. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

There doesn't seem to be any documentation for Zoo 2.4 just yet.... I have a client I'm using 2.3 for and just about to go live. They're asking about automatic notification of submissions....I know 2.4 has this and I've already downloaded my 2.4 stable full..

What is the upgrade process like? Can I simply install? I'm afraid to do anything until I know for sure!!!
