YOOtheme Pro

Here is our new all-in-one website builder

YOOtheme Pro released

After almost one year of development we are incredibly proud to release YOOtheme Pro for Joomla today. It is the biggest step for us since the founding of YOOtheme and it will bring a new era that merges our products into a single, groundbreaking toolkit for creating web experiences: The website builder. It will revolutionize the way you work and lets you create beautiful websites in no time - without the need to write a line of code.

YOOtheme Pro in detail

The new website builder is the heart of YOOtheme Pro and your most important tool. It allows you to customize and manage pretty much every aspect of your website and to build entire pages with modular building blocks, called elements. You can edit Joomla content, like menus and modules, without leaving the YOOtheme Pro administration. All this happens in a real-time preview, so that you can see changes that you make immediately.

To give you an overview of all the new YOOtheme Pro features, we've lauched a brand new landing page. Check it out!

Fuse — A new website, new possibilities

With YOOtheme Pro we also rethought our theme creation process. Instead of our previous, monolithic theme releases we move to a new system of modular and evolving websites. So, today we are thrilled to present our first website based on YOOtheme Pro: Fuse! It introduces the new default theme, the first style called Minimal and 8 different page layouts - all wrapped in elegant, web agency themed demo content.

YOOtheme Pro - Fuse website

The default YOOtheme Pro theme is sporting a classical widescreen layout and is stuffed with features, like different header layouts, a special mobile header and many options to create unique top and bottom sections. The first available style has a minimalistic and modern look. It's light, elegant and focused on typographical details. The topic of the website serves as a perfect basis for any agency or portfolio website and comes with 8 prebuilt layouts: Frontpage, Portfolio, Services, About, FAQ, Case Study, Careers and Press.

  • 1 Style called Minimal
  • 8 Layouts for different page types
  • Web agency and business topic

Same release cycle, new concept

So what does YOOtheme Pro mean for you and your subscription?

The basic principle remains the same. At the beginning of each month a new Website, like Fuse, will be released. It bundles the theme itself and its features, styles for a different look, pages with different layouts and demo content for a specific topic. Thanks to the modular structure of YOOtheme Pro, it will be easy to transform one website into various creations. With this concept, we are able to offer you more possibilities than ever before.

The best thing is, all websites will be updated continuously. This means that we will keep adding new features, styles, layouts and topics to each release. This is amazing, because each website is part of an evolving ecosystem and will continue to grow and evolve along with it.

We still have lots of ideas for the YOOtheme Pro website builder, which we will add step by step, aiming for monthly feature releases. You can expect YOOtheme 1.1 by November, 1.2 by December and so on.

Meanwhile you don't have to worry. There is no need to upgrade your existing subscription. All members have immediate access to YOOtheme Pro including all new features. Basically nothing is going to change for you — except the product, which is way better than before.

What about Warp and Widgetkit?

The YOOtheme Pro website builder and its themes are based on a completely new framework. You can consider it the successor of Warp and Widgetkit, since it combines the features of both — which is great. Unfortunately, this also means that it will be impossible to upgrade older themes to the new system. But there is absolutely no need to upgrade your already running website. There are no plans to end Warp 7 theme support any time soon.

Note that you can not use Widgetkit in combination with YOOtheme Pro, as both are implementing different versions of our frontend framework UIkit. If you are using ZOO, you will also need to update the extension.

Hello, Pro

Please remember: This is the first release of a completely new system and we are working on constant improvements. So, if you find any bugs, please report them in the support center and we will fix them right away. Our current focus is on making YOOtheme Pro available for WordPress, with Pagekit following.

Now go on, explore!

Page Builder

Create sophisticated layouts with YOOtheme Pro

Create websites in no time with the YOOtheme Pro website builder

Only one week is left until our magnificent new website builder will drop and change the way you create websites forever. Now it's time for the last installment of our blog post series. Let's talk about the most spectacular part of the website builder: the page builder.

What is it for?

Sophisticated page content isn't easy to create. Having to set up a page's layout with all its headlines, grids and other design elements in plain HTML can be daunting and take quite a while. So, our goal was to enable you to create a complete website quickly and to produce perfect, updateable markup without coding.

Website Builder

YOOtheme Pro lets you create websites in no time

Create websites in no time with the YOOtheme Pro website builder

Today we want to introduce you to our groundbreaking new website builder. It will be the most important tool when it comes to website creation and will have a huge impact on the way you work as a web designer.

The new website builder splits the screen into a sidebar on the left and a real-time preview on the right with the actual website. It contains all the tools to manage the complete look and layout of your website. The concept is similar to the Warp 7 style customizer that many of you are familiar with, though it is much more powerful with all theme functionalities available in one place. It is a complete website builder that allows you to modify theme settings, pick logos and the site's favicon, build entire layouts and change your theme's appearance.

1-Click Updates

And easy customizations with YOOtheme Pro

YOOtheme Pro introduces 1-Click Updates

It is time for our next milestone on the road to YOOtheme Pro. Today's blog post is about how we are improving customizations and updating themes without losing your modifications.

Warp has always supported customizations. So far, these have been spread across different files in the theme, keeping us from implementing automatic 1-click updates. YOOtheme Pro themes will save settings into the database and introduce child themes to completely separate the core theme and modifications.

Announcing UIkit 3

Beta phase coming soon

Announcing UIkit 3

We're very proud to announce the next big leap for our beloved front-end framework: UIkit 3! The development started 8 months ago in January and since then we are working continuously on it. It's a complete overhaul of the entire framework. Compared to UIkit 2, where we've added more and more features with the later releases, the focus of UIkit 3 is on rewriting and optimizing the code base. UIkit 3 will be smarter, faster, leaner and even more powerful.

Luna Theme

August 2016 YOOtheme club theme

This August's theme release is a special one for us. Luna comes with a vibrant, colorful design that doesn't need big images to impress. The typographic teaser makes a grand opening, while four custom Widgetkit plugins help you to bring out your content. In addition, Luna's styles are extra sophisticated, including beautiful background effects. Each one was crafted with loving detail, essentially making them mini themes themselves.

We have a big announcement for you guys. Luna will be the last Warp 7 release and some major changes are coming. But more about that later.

Luna theme comes with four custom plugins for Widgetkit 2, our smart tool set for content creation: a Gallery, List, Slideshow and a Grid widget, plus a modifier class for the default Grid widget.

The custom Gallery widget uses tags not only to filter items, but places them inside a list below the title. This works perfectly in all overlays and panel styles. The default gallery options are still available.

Luna widget Gallery

This List widget allows you to arrange content in a layout that is similar to a description list. Items can be separated with borders, backgrounds or just space. Additionally, you can add a subtitle below the title of each item, by adding information to the Subtitle field of the Settings tab in the widget administration.

Luna widget List

Luna theme comes with a Slideshow widget that is great for displaying short information, like quotes or testimonials. Media items are placed inside a circle on top of the panel, like an avatar. You can also add a Watermark through the custom field in the Settings tab.

Luna widget Slideshow

This Grid widget places a check icon in the top-left corner of each item. On hover, a panel background appears and a different style is applied to the icon. Note that this widget does not support media items.

Luna widget Grid

In addition to the custom Grid, we provide the modifier class .tm-grid-button, which you can add to a regular Grid widget. A spinning arrow button will then appear when hovering grid items.

Luna widget Grid Button

This theme comes with unusually versatile styles that include different textures, gradients, shadows and filled as well as outlined UI elements. Another thing that makes these styles unique are the background animations that we've added. There are fireflies, particles and different geometric forms that float with a parallax effect when you move the cursor. You can select each of these backgrounds in the Layouts section of the Warp administration and they adapt to all styles (except for the fireflies, which naturally, you can only see in the dark).

Luna Navbar

Luna theme includes three different layouts for the main navigation. It can be stacked with the logo above the centered menu, so that there's plenty of space for big logos. But you can also apply a single line, left aligned navigation or even place the logo in the middle of the centered menu. The items will be distributed equally on both sides.

The navbar also comes with a sticky option, so that it remains fixed at the top of the browser window when you scroll the page. Additionally, there's an option to turn the navbar transparent and place it on top of the content. This looks great on all section backgrounds. If sticky mode is enabled, its background color will be applied again to the navbar upon scrolling.

Luna Navbar

Apart from a custom blog style and a number of appearance options for each position, Luna theme comes with the Smoothscroll position where you can add a dotted navigation to scroll through long pages. We've also added a bunch of custom classes to help you style your content. For example, you can see a fancy typographic teaser on the frontpage of the demo, which is easily replicated.

Luna Teaser

Check out the Theme page for instructions and full list of the features and custom classes of Luna theme.

  • Different background animations
  • 4 custom widgets and a modifier class
  • 3 main navigation layouts and sticky option
  • Custom blog layout
  • Demo pages built with Widgetkit 2
  • Full UIkit components styling

Farewell Warp 7

The time has come after three years and 38 themes to part from Warp 7. We've spent the past six months working on its successor and are happy to announce that it won't be long now. We are even more excited to announce that this one isn't "just" going to be Warp 8. It will be a completely new theme framework, including new versions of both Widgetkit and UIkit. We think in one word, it will be GROUNDBREAKING :-) In order to be able to take on the enormous workload that comes along with this project, we decided not to release a new theme next month. This is the first time in the entire history of our company, which has produced 116 themes (not counting legendary Mega theme) that we skip a month and we hope for your understanding that we want to concentrate all our energies on this new generation of themes. We can assure you that it will be worth the wait. So buckle up!

During the next months we're going to release weekly blog posts that will disclose some of the features our new theme framework will have to offer. So keep your eyes on our blog. If you have any feature requests, we would also like to encourage you to post them here in the comments. These are exciting times for us!

Monday Theme

July 2016 YOOtheme club theme

We've already reached half-time of the year and are presenting our July theme release: Monday comes with a classical boxed layout and a color coded tag system that occurs throughout blog articles, six custom Widgetkit plugins and several other elements. This makes Monday theme great for any business or news website.

Monday theme allows you to assign one of 10 different colors to each of your tags in the Warp administration. Tagged menu items in your main navigation will then adopt the appropriate color and display a matching border below the navbar.

Monday Tags

You can also apply tag colors to different UI elements, like badges or tabs by adding one of the .tm-tag-* classes to a container element – like a panel – or the <li> elements of a tabbed navigation.

To highlight text elements with a tag color, just add one of the .tm-tag-color-* classes.

As usual, this theme comes with our content creator toolkit Widgetkit 2. In addition to the default widgets, Monday includes six custom plugins, incorporating the color coded tags.

The custom Switcher widget features a tabbed navigation. You can assign a tag to each item, so an animated, colored border will appear on its tab and the tag will be displayed above the content.

Monday Tabs

Slideshow Panel

This Slideshow Panel optionally displays each item's tag above the content. The slidenav can be positioned at the top right, top left, bottom left and bottom right of the Slideshow Panel.

Monday Slideshow Panel

Monday theme includes a custom Slideshow that displays content inside a hover panel on top of each media item. The thumbnav features a colored border at the top of the active item to signalize its tag.

Monday Slideshow

The Grid widget arranges media and content in a teaser layout, placing the image above or in alternating order above and below the content. They are divided by colored borders representing the different tags.

Monday Grid

The Twitter widget allows you to render your latest three tweets inside a Slideshow.

Monday Twitter

Use this custom List widget to publish tagged articles inside a list. Each item's tag will be displayed above its title.

Monday List

Monday theme comes with two different navigation layouts, which you can select in the Warp administration. One aligns the logo and menu to the left. The other one centers both in a stacked layout. This is great, if your design has a big logo. The navbar can be set to sticky mode, so that it remains at the top of the browser window when scrolling down the page.

Additionally, the dropdown can be extended to the width of the entire browser window.

Monday Navigation

Business is all well and good. But apart from a practical layout, we wanted to give this theme a very individual and versatile style. That's why we decided to add a unique background to each of our six style variations. Galaxy and Material, for example, feature subtle animations, while Organic comes with a nice photographic backdrop and Salmon is more down to earth with a light texture.

Monday Background

Block Footer

Apart from the modular box design, we've created a separated footer for this theme. You can apply different background colors and vertical padding to this block in the Layouts section of the Warp administration.

Monday Footer

Monday theme features a custom blog style that presents the article and its featured image side by side and also uses colored tags. You can apply a different grid gutter to every widget/module position or remove the spacing altogether in the Warp administration. To cap it all off, there are three additional widget/module styles that combine a custom header with boxed panels.

Monday Article

To check out all styles, additional options and custom classes, take a look a the Theme page.

  • Special incorporation of tags
  • 6 different custom Widgetkit plugin
  • 2 main navigation layouts and sticky option
  • Special footer block with custom options
  • Custom blog layout
  • Demo pages built with Widgetkit 2
  • Full UIkit components styling
