Help Guide

This guide helps you getting started with our Question/Answer based support system. Make sure you follow all the tips and tricks to get support as fast as possible.

The first thing you want is finding an answer for your issue, right? So make sure you search first, then ask the question. Searching our answer database is really simply. Just enter your question in the search box. While typing you should already see real-time results of the most relevant questions with a similar topic poping up.

The Results

Each displayed question was formerly asked by another user. The question's title, some text and the tags of the question are shown. To the left you find the total number of answers to the question and how high it is voted by other users. If these numbers are highlighted green, the question has an accepted, correct answer. This is very helpful to find solved issues. To the right you find the time of the latest activity in the question. Simply click on the title of a question to open the full view showing you the full question and all answers.

The Filters

The Filters

You can filter questions by tags. The most important ones are the general tags: Bug Report, Feature Request, General Question, Image Sources, Joomla, Mobile, Warp Theme, Widgetkit, WordPress and ZOO. Additionally you can select one of your themes as tag.

Questions can also be ordered by Relevance, Votes, Newest and Activity.

  • Relevance: Ordered by our search algorithm.
  • Votes: Ordered by the most up voted questions.
  • Newest: Ordered by the creation date of the questions.
  • Activity: Ordered by the date of the latest answer in the questions.
You can even use these filters without typing any search term. For example just select "Joomla" as tag to see all questions tagged with Joomla. Or set the order to "Newest" without any search term and you will get a list of all questions in the database ordered by date.

Advanced Search Options

You have advanced search option which you can combine with your search query.

  • accepted:1 Questions that have an accepted answer.
  • accepted:0 Questions that have NO accepted answer.
  • answers:0 Questions with no answers.
  • answers:3 Questions that have a minimum number of answers.
  • votes:10 Questions that have a minimum number of votes.
  • views:150 Questions that have a minimum number of views.

For example: SEARCH TERM answers:0 will show up all questions regarding your search term with no answers.

The Dashboard

The Dashboard

The first page which appears when visiting our support system is the dashboard. It gives you a good overview of the most popular questions. It is categorized in topic boxes of the two latest theme releases, the Warp framework, Widgetkit, ZOO and Feature Requests. Each topic box shows the 10 most up voted questions of the last 90 days. The numbers indicate how many answers each question has. If a number is highlighted green, the question has an accepted answer.

To get back to the dashboard just cancel your search query by clicking on the close icon in the search box.

The Question and its Answers

The Question and its Answers

If you have clicked a question you get the full question description and all given answers beneath. To the left you find the voting count of the question and some actions you can do:

  • Plus Icon: Vote the question up, if you support it or have the same issue.
  • Minus Icon: Vote the question only down, if you think it is nonsense or completely irrelevant.
  • Star Icon: Bookmark the question as favorite to receive emails for any new answer.

The answers are sorted by votes so you see the most helpful answers first. If the question is solved and has an accepted, correct answer, it shows up first and is highlighted green. Additionally you can sort the answers by Newest, which means the creation date, or Activity, which means last modification. There are some actions you can take on each answer:

  • Plus Icon: Vote an answer up, if you think it is helpful or the correct answer.
  • Minus Icon: Vote an answer only down, if you think it is nonsense or or completely irrelevant.

If you know the answer to the question you can submit it at the bottom of the page. Any contribution is much appreciated. By giving answers and helping other members you will gain a great reputation on the YOOtheme website.

Ask a Question

Ask a Questions

If you don't find any answer to your issue, you can ask a new question. Click on "Ask a Question" on the right of the search box and type in a descriptive title for your question and your question in detail.

Follow these simple steps before posting your question to get an answer faster.

  • Make sure you read the documentation, especially the section "Troubleshooting".
  • Search your issue first and vote it up. Highly voted questions are prioritized.
  • Provide a link to your website where we can inspect your issue.
  • Does the system check of Warp, Widgetkit or ZOO find issues?
  • Let us know the PHP, Joomla or WordPress version as well as the browser you are using.
  • Only ask about ONE issue per question. If you have multiple questions, please split them to multiple question posts.
You may find the need to add new information to your question or check the status of the question at some stage. In this case, you should not reply to your own question, just click on the "Edit" button of your question and then add this new information or status request to your question as an update.

Provide as much useful information as possible to help us solve your issue fast.

Editor, Image & File Uploads

Editor, Image & File Uploads

We use Markdown as lightweight markup language in the description area. Learn the Markdown syntax here. But there is also a little editor above the textarea to get you started inserting links, images, text formatting and more. To apply a special formatting or a link to a text, simply select the text and click on one of the Editor icons. If you paste a simple URL it is automatically linked.

You can't attach or upload images or files to your posts, but you can upload them to a 3rd party provider and paste a simple URL to your image or file. URLs to images will automatically show up as image. Here are some 3rd party providers:

Hidden Information

You can attach hidden information to your question only visible to our support team. This could be login data to your website, for example. But do NOT post your websites URL here, because this often reduces the chance to get an answer by a member who is not part of YOOtheme's support team.

Add Tags

Adding tags to your post helps us and others to find your question. It sorts it in the right category and can provide useful information. Don't use too many tags! Please use relevant tags only.

Accept the Correct Answer

Accept the Correct Answer

You will be notified by email when a new answer is made to your question. If an answer helped to solve your issue, accept the answer as correct by clicking the check mark to the left of the answer. This is very important because it helps others to find the correct answer and your supporter will get a higher ranking in our leaderboard. If one answer is more useful to you than another, you can vote them up or down.

You will continue receiving email notifications until you accept an answer which has helped you. Accepting the correct answer is very important and will help other members.
