Yootheme Pro - Child Theme - html override is not working

Hi,

  1. I have created yootheme_child folder (in the same folder yootheme folder is located).
  2. In the backend Settings -> Advanced -> Child Theme -> Child
  3. I have copied the contents of yootheme/html/mod_articles_latest/default.php into yootheme_child/html/mod_articles_latest/default.php

By modifying the files in child override folder, nothing happens. I have cleared browser/site cache but no change.

Looks like override is not working.

Override works if the changes are done within the folder yootheme but I'm talking about Joomla Overrides as explained in https://yootheme.com/pro/docs/#/child-themes

I would like to emphasize that override is not working for YooTheme PRO child theme. I am reporting as I have tested it so many times.

Hi

Can I have a reply?

Why is your support too bad?

Thanks for looking into it.

Of course, the child theme override is working for css and js folders. I have tested them and working fine.

The issue is with html folder only.

Sure, I am waiting.

I created theme.js inside yootheme_child/js folder and javascript is overriding successfully but not the html.

Please help me.

I have added my Super Admin and FTP access.

The problem with using template overrides is, when you update yootheme, all the changes will be gone.

I have created a child theme and set it in the backend settings.

From the FTP access, you will find yootheme_child folder in the same level of yootheme.

I'm damn sure the child theme is not working for "html" overrides as explained in https://yootheme.com/pro/docs/#/child-themes -> Joomla Overrides

BTW, I'm also a Joomla developer.

I have created template override and child theme override in my test site for latest articles module. From the homepage, it is obvious that only template override works but not child template override.

Please escalate this issue to your developers.

I know YT Pro is new but I can understand these small issues may exist.

Please some one acknowledge this bug.

This is going to be one month since the ticket is open.

Do you want me to renew my licence this December or what?

Still no solution from the devs? Today i updated to 1.3.7 and all the overrides i made on the yootheme/html has gone. I tried to put them in yootheme_child/html from a backup but the override dont work for html. Now i'm afraid to update again.

I have this problem as well. there is no way to override from a childtheme. this makes overrides useless as I will lose any override i make to the parent theme if i update.

Hi i told the devs, and yes you are right,i tested as well it s a bug in the child themplate

i suggest you make normal overrides instead of creating a child for now, the devs are looking at the issue

i don t know when this will be fixed

maybe someone else from yootheme will come back and reply to you
