When will template release be returned to first of the month?

It's been months since a template has been released on the first of the month. when will that return to normal?

Also, I posted a question about rotating images for Pro last week with no reply. That is frustrating when support questions go unanswered. This open forum idea is great until a question goes completely unanswered!

Ok. thanks. So we will no longer get the color variations, got it. thats disappointing.

As far as I am aware there won't be multiple color styles with the monthly releases, I'm sorry. But instead you can apply existing color styles to your theme. E.g. if you install Joline, you can use the styles Fuse, Max, Horizon and Joline. Future styles will also be incuded on update.

Question: you say that all the themes will be available after initial install. sounds interesting.

There is only 1 theme: yootheme

There are multiple styles: Fuse, Horizon, Max, Joline, ... (future styles)

You can use all of these styles in the yootheme theme.

But you mention "one demo content package per month." Does this mean that there are different demo packages, and switching to one of these other styles might not necessarily allow for easy replication of the demo template?

Yes, that is correct. You can easily switch styles, but not layouts and demo content.

Example 1

If you install the Joline Demo Package, you have the following predefined layouts in the layout library: About, Spots, Styles, Sponsors, Spots Case Study, Styles Case Study

You also have the following styles: Fuse, Horizon, Max, Joline

Example 2

If you install the Max Demo Package, you have the following predefined layouts in the layout library: Home, Work, Case Study, Branding, About, Services

You also have the following styles: Fuse, Horizon, Max, Joline

Example 3

If you install the yootheme theme without demo content, you don't have any predefined layouts in the layout library.

You still have the following styles: Fuse, Horizon, Max, Joline

However, you can still create/replicate any layouts and save them to your library.

We would have to uninstall and reinstall, just like in W7, to get a site that looks like the demo.

Yes, if you want the complete site with demo layouts, that would be the fastest way. If you only need one page layout from another demo package, I would rather re-create this layout and save it to the library.

I hope this made things a bit clearer.

Hi sazqatch,

It has just been released. Usually, themes have been released on the first working day in the month being today.

The launch of YOOtheme Pro caused some delays, though.

Joline Website

Kind regards

ok. I guess it's a time difference thing. It's 11:30 here.

About my other ticket, asking when we will be able to have a rotating slideshow behind the main menu in pro? I really need to know this.

Oh, and do you plan to offer style/color variations with Pro?

thanks

Unfortunately, I don't know when slideshows, sliders, etc (like in Widgetkit) build with UIkit 3 will be available, but it's a major to-do. I'd recommend you to add your request to the Wish list for YOOtheme Pro

Oh, and do you plan to offer style/color variations with Pro?

Yes, currently there are four styles and new styles will be added in the future. No matter which page you installed initially (Fuse, Horizon, Max, Joline...), future styles will be added to the theme and therefore be available to any installation.

I presume what they meant was the different styles of the same theme like;
https://demo.yootheme.com/themes/joomla/2016/luna/?style=ocean
https://demo.yootheme.com/themes/joomla/2016/luna/?style=minimal
https://demo.yootheme.com/themes/joomla/2016/luna/?style=blue

etc.

I miss this too, I liked seeing the different colour versions of the same templates to give inspiration for my own websites. I'd love to have that for yoothemepro themes, different preset colour versions of the themes available.

@evan.ingram

At the moment, there are 4 styles for yootheme pro. No matter which demo package you use (Fuse, Horizon, Max or Joline), you can use all 4 styles. And all future styles will be available for 'old' demo packages, too.

Right. in my original question I did mean the different color variations. Will those style options return?

Will those style options return?

Please note that with YOOtheme Pro the concept has changed.

Warp 7

  • 1 Theme per month incl. 4-6 Styles available only for that theme

  • 1 Demo Content Package per month

YOOtheme Pro (up to now):

  • 1 Base Theme for all future releases

  • 1 Demo Content Package per month

  • 1 additional style per month (i.e. in September '17 there will be 12 styles available)

thanks, that is very clear. I'm hoping to get used to Pro. It's hard to use it and not be able to have a rotating homepage image behind the menu. clients want that.

To be brutally honest, I started looking around again for a new template provider a couple weeks ago. Ive used you since '09 and i liked you the best then. I looked at rockettheme, shape5, gavick, and others. I was disappointed in all of them. Everyone has variations of the same thing, but your typography is always better. your designs are simply better. so its frustrating that i have to wait around for you guys to finish something that isnt finished yet.

ive developed software. i get it. i think continuing to to develop W7 for a few more months alongside pro would have been a better choice. imnsho.

thanks for clarifying this info.
