ZOO Content Typy gone & ALL widgets linked to ZOO dissappeared after UPDATE

As described in this members question http://yootheme.com/support/question/103337 . . . after updating ZOO the content type "ZOO" had disappeared from widgetkit & ALL my widgets that were previously linked to my Zoo blog have just vanished from widgetkit altogether, this means basically all the content of the website (everything on the blog) is gone and just shows blank pages .

I didn't take a backup of the site before this update, so is there any other way to fix this issue? The only other to get the site working again would be to contact the hosting company and get them to restore an older copy of the site. but that will cost us unnecessary fees.

Any help or suggestions with this issue would be much appreciated.

First of all you should update your very outdated Widgetkit 2.5.3 to the current version 2.9.2.

Once this is done, make sure the plug-in "System - Widgetkit ZOO" is enabled.

Then try select the content type "ZOO" for a Widgetkit:

Try if matters have improved.

A backup before an update should be a basic routine.

Even if you did not take actively make a backup, there should be access to the available backups in your hosting account's control panel. If you have to contact your hosting service to get access to a backup, something is wrong.

I suggest you contact your site's webmaster about this.

Thank you
