A white page usually hints to a PHP error. My guess is that the problem is caused by an incompatible 3rd party ZOO Element or an extension.

To find out more about what could be wrong, please turn on Joomla!'s error reporting temporarily:

Set System/Site > Global Configuration > Server > Error Reporting > Maximum and save the changes.

Then try again what failed. If there is an error message shown, please copy the full text and add it here.

Remember to set Error Reporting back to the previous value.

Mind that the activation of the Error Reporting feature is not meant to fix anything but to find out more about a possible cause.

Thank you

OK I do this and get follow message:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 9437184 bytes) in /var/www/test.karate.de/administrator/components/com_zoo/classes/category.php on line 161

The error message hints to a problem with your webserver's memory and possibly a ZOO "Related Items" element. Does that ring any bells?

As far as I can see your webserver's memory is 128 MB, which should be sufficient. Is there an unusally large number of categories or items?

Today I whant change infos in a categorie by Items. But when I click on "Kategorien" I get a white Page :( in other Items the Kategorie work.

This is in part contradictory or at least unclear. Please be more precise: Where exactly do you click?

I click here:

I have there scarce 2000 entries / clubs listed.
Can this be the reason? And if so how can I solve it.
It is very important that this continues to work.

Are these "entries" ZOO items or ZOO categories?

The error relates to insufficient memory. You could try and increase the memory of your webserver, to 256 MB for instance.

As far as I can see you have at least two sites running on the same webserver: karate.de and test.karate.de. Their demand of memory will be most likely be added and it might be too much.

On the "test" site I can see a clock spinning at the top in "Vereine", which implies something is loading slowly or does not load at all. In the same spot on the site without the "test" there is a search feature.

Is this search feature a custom solution or a 3rd party extension? Is it somehow integrated in the backend?

Please try and disable it for a test.

Thank you

The search is an individual programming or extern tool I think so ... , but the programmer is no longer available. I will try to increase the memory limit and disable the search tool :-) I will report as soon as I know something new. Thanks for your answer

At the moment, I haven´t any solution. So it is possible to change the categories in the database directly? Can you tell me who I can find the special table :-) ? Thanks Melanie

It should be possible to temporarily disable this 3rd party search extension, then do what you want to do with the items or categories, and re-enable your search feature after that.

Try and go to Extensions > Manage > Manage, into the search field type radius, click on the search icon, look for this component — it will be name "Geo Radius Search" or something similar — and disable it.

Try if you can access your categories now.

It is possible, but changes in the database are generally risky.

There is more than one table with ZOO content. It would very much depend on what precisely you want to change.

Do you want to move items to a different category? Do you want to change a category name or description?

Thank you
