Widgetkit2 Slideshow Height

Is it possible to set the max-height of the Widgetkit2 Slideshow?
There is an option for the min-height but it is more obvious to set the max-height.

I added this to my custom.css file and fixed this issue on my site...

.tm-top-teaser .uk-slideshow {max-height:400px;}
.tm-top-teaser ul.uk-slideshow li {max-height:400px;}

My slideshow is published in the Top-Teaser module position.

Hello Sascha.

I am also a big supporter of this feature.
Instead of resizing or cropping the images ourself, it would be really nice to just specify the heights of the widget.

I definitely think we need this feature, especially as it is one of the most used features of widgetkit

Thanks Sascha,
I can use the proportion of the photo or use a custom css on the .uk-slideshow.
But it would be handy if you've got photo's with differtent dimensions to set the height; like you can set the height of the Map-widget.
In my situation I've got all landscape and one portrait photo so the hole slideshow is taking the height of the portrait one. My solution for now is to get rid of the portrait one :)

I am having problems with the height of images on Slideshow. They are too tall (http://yootheme.com/support/question/75480)

Hi Sascha,

I'll jump on this bandwagon as well, this feature is a must have if you are using landscape and portrait images in a slideshow.

Ethan

Currently the Slideshow is as wide as the image or if the container is smaller then its as wide as the container. The proportions of the image are kept so the height results from that. The min-height is needed for small devices so that the slideshow does not shrink to the size of a post stamp ;-)

Hello Yootheme Team,

Can you give us a statement for this feature-request!? ;-)

Kind Regards,

+1 I'd really like to see a max height feature ... but only on mobile phones in portrait orientation. Not sure how to do this...

OT - I'd love to have the ability to load different size images for different max-widths. At least 2. Loading a 1600x1200 image for a small mobile screen is overkill and hard on mobile bandwidth. Even compressed down to <200k, with multiple images, you get a very heavy site for mobile.

I used this code with my avanti theme site:

.uk-panel .tm-slideshow-avanti {max-height:400px;}
.uk-panel ul.tm-slideshow-avanti li {max-height:400px;}

This works for the physical height of the window, but it doesn't adjust the content. this still seems to be set to the relative full size of the image/video, and is now hidden behind the main page..

Just playing for now, but still hoping to get that max height setting added to the new widgetkit. it has been a while since this request was made, and i kinda expected it to be added by now..

Patiently waiting..

Thank you,
Barry

Only reason I have not yet purchased WidgetKit 2 is the lack of a max height feature. Ended up having to purchase elsewhere :(

I see there is still no solution to fill in a max-height on a slideshow.... Strange because it's one of the most used features.
For this reason I cannot use Widgetkit 2. Hope someone from Yootheme will pick this up soon...

I have a problem too with the max-height with video. I don't know how this is possible because I have tried it with several video's everytime the same. The video height is too high "That's stupid" I can get it smaller. Should I upload my video's different too youtube, but I don't know what I should do to get the high lower: www.trapbag.com

I think that Yootheme Support should support this, else they must provide us a css option to solve it.

Avatar no64 answered

Yes.... we need this

  • It should be possible to set the height (height of the "viewport"), to use images in different dimensions.
    choosing wheather the content is "cropped" from "top", "middle", "bottom" or even set exact pixel parameters where to vertical position the content in the "viewport".
    Would make life a lot easier :)

I just renewed my membership for three months just to get the latest Widgetkit2 VERY disappointed to find there is still a major issue with height. Lots of people have asked for this over a long period of time but the response has been dismal to say the least. I do NOT want my images scaled up to the width every time as portrait photos grow far too high.
Wasted my money....

Frustrated too. Then a simple fix: Insert the widget inside a table (with a preset size/width).

Code:

<table class=" aligncenter" style="width: 500px;" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">
<tbody>
<tr>
<td style="width: 500px; text-align: center; vertical-align: middle;">
<p>[widgetkit id="52"]</p>
</td>
</tr>
</tbody>
</table>

Best,
Kevin

Hello, no news about max heght setting?

Avatar damian.henry answered

I need this feature ASAP. Its pointless to create a slide show when you cant set the size of it. I want to be able to move it around. Right align and set a size.

Here'a another vote for this feature. Mine has a lot of padding on the top and bottom of the Top A position. With some custom CSS, I can not find a way to eliminate the padding.
