widgetkit img quality

Hi I'm using widget kit 2 and in slideshow, if i choose a specific dimension for the media, then the image quality is reduced!
Also while using a gif, if the media is set to auto auto then the gif show fine, if you try to put a dimension to the media, the gif won't play it will just show the first image of the gif.
What i saw was that when you put dimensions the image is shown from cache, on the contrary if is set to auto auto it shows the actual img and the gif shows fine.
Any ideas?

Nothing guys? really?after one month? nobody else has this problem?also at another site i'm building happens the same

Hello,

for me it's the same. I need a better quality for the images - but I cannot find where to change the files to a better one? Anyone who has the same problem?

Google PageSpeed very like this quality ;). You may always keep size image on auto

I just found the solution to this problem. When you create a new Widget, after you click "New", do not select "Joomla" from the drop down. Instead select "Custom." This will generate the plug in with the newer interface in which the "content and widgets have been decoupled completely", whereas if you select "Joomla," etc., then the content is pulled from what you select in the article. Somehow in the translation, the quality gets degraded and you will see blurred edges and artifacts in your image. So you are going to have to recreate the Widget in question, but as a standalone Widget, not one that pulls it's content from a Joomla article. Futhermore, in my case, I used an image that was already sized correctly, so I'm not asking the system to either enlarge it or reduce it. Good luck.
