Long time no see, but UIkit is back with great additions and improvements. First of all we’d like to say thank you for the over 900 extra stargazers and additional 130 forks on Github since the last release in June. It is nice to see growth not only in UIkit’s maturity but also in the community.
We added two new add-ons that we are already quite fond of and you will certainly love, too. Apart from the new additions, UIkit received a lot of attention in refactoring and fixes for existing components and add-ons.

UIkit has been on the road for a while and though we are pleased with the way it has turned out so far, we are constantly tweaking and improving it in order to remain on top of the newest web developments. Today we are happy to announce the long expected UIkit release. It took a while but the time has been well spent. For starters, we squashed quite a few bugs. There was some code refactoring, add-ons have been renamed and some new ones were added.
Today we would like to introduce UIkit 2.5, which is a really big release. We have been busy working on a whole bunch of new add-ons and a lot of improvements. Altogether there are 5 completely new add-ons: Autocomplete, Upload, Placeholder, Dotnav and Slidenav. We also refactored the Search component, which will increase the possibilities and reduce the core size. We also fixed some issues for the Modal, Timepicker and the Markdown area. Let's have a quick look at all the new stuff.

To take UIkit to the next level, we have been quite busy during the last two months. We completely overhauled the entire UIkit repository, simplified LESS variables, added a new component and squashed some bugs. An addition are the new add-ons which complement UIkit by offering extra functionality like a Markdown editor, datepicker, timepicker and more. Make sure to take a closer look at our Markdown editor which lets you write your markup with a realtime preview. The editor also supports syntax highlighting, an extendable toolbar and a full-screen mode.
