Interactive Maps
Display locations with interactive maps using Google Maps or OpenStreetMap, with custom markers, popups, lazy loading and privacy placeholders.
Interactive maps show one or multiple locations directly in your layouts, from office location and event venue to accommodations and stores. Choose between OpenStreetMap and Google Maps, then add locations manually or load them dynamically from Joomla or WordPress content and custom fields.
Each location appears as a map marker that can open a popup with a title, meta, text, image and link. Set the popup width and choose whether a specific location should already be open when the map loads.
For maps with many locations, replace the default pins with custom marker icons and automatically group nearby markers into clusters. You can also use custom cluster icons and fit all markers automatically instead of setting the center position and zoom level manually.
Display the map as a roadmap or satellite map, set the initial, minimum and maximum zoom levels, and control whether users can zoom, drag or access the map controls. Define a fixed or viewport-based height, or set responsive dimensions that preserve the map's proportions across different screen sizes. Google Maps can be styled further to match your website.
Maps are lazy-loaded by default, so external scripts and map tiles load only as the map gets into the viewport. This reduces the initial page load and improves performance. You can also prevent Google Maps and OpenStreetMap from loading until users give consent. A privacy placeholder is shown instead, and users must actively click it before the external map service loads.
