Local Google Fonts

Typography is an essential part of every website design. In YOOtheme Pro, you can browse the Google Fonts library directly in the Style Customizer and apply fonts to your global typography, headings, buttons, navigation and other UI components.

Once you select a Google Font, YOOtheme Pro automatically downloads the required font files and stores them locally on your own server. The fonts are included in the generated CSS, so no requests are sent to the Google Fonts servers when users open your site.

This improves privacy, helps with GDPR compliance and boosts PageSpeed by removing an additional external request. Fonts are served reliably from your own website, while still giving you access to the Google Fonts library in your design workflow.

All Google Fonts used in the current style are listed in one place in the Google Fonts panel in the Style Customizer. There you can load additional variants like bold and italic, as well as language subsets for multilingual typography.

To keep locally stored fonts up to date, YOOtheme Pro checks them when recompiling the CSS and automatically downloads newer versions if needed. This happens after an update or when you manually recompile the CSS in the Style Customizer.
