Changing to a transparent Header in YOOtheme Pro, 'Max' template

In YOOtheme Pro, using the 'Max' template, I have gone to the builder to change the Header Image.

This has been achieved by selecting Builder, clicking the 'pen' symbol for Edit next to the Home 'Section' heading and changing the image.

Now I want to have a transparent Header Bar so the Logo and Menu are on a white background.

If I select 'Edit Settings' under the image path, changing 'Image Size' to 'Contain' via the menu seems to do the trick. However, when I go back to the Builder page and click 'Save Page', nothing happens. At this point I cannot exit the Builder without losing the transparent Header effect.

Have I used the correct option to change the Header to transparent? If so, how do I save the effect?

Many thanks!

Hi,

can you please update to the latest version of YOOtheme Pro. I can nor reproduce the behavior you describe in the current version.
Saving changes in the style customizer does work without issues.

I'm afraid not. I tried to change the Header background colour but it appears to have an automatic setting which reverts after I try to change it.

Any additional pointers gratefully accepted...

Thanks!

Hi - thanks for getting back to me.

At present, I am just trying to get used to he new YOOtheme Pro system and am just playing with the system.

I have a vanilla install of the Max sample data - no changes to a straight installation.

Can you tell me the steps I should go through to change the background colour behind the logo and menu from blue to, say, white - or red, green etc?

I've tried via Style->Theme->Header Background but this has no effect. An 'A' next to the setting seems to imply the colour is automatic. I have tried changing Style->Global->Primary Background and this changes the colour in the preview but not when I check in the website itself. (I did 'Save' the new setting)

If the latter is the correct process, what have `i missed and is there a way to set the colour for just the Menu/Logo background without changing the Primary Background colour for the entire site?

If you think this is an installation issue, I'll happily provide the admin details...

Many thanks!

Added login to 'hidden info'.

Site is currently offline so shows a 'maintenance page'. Guess you can toggle that if you need to see the site.

Please leave 'offline' once you leave.

Again - many thanks! (Running to a meeting now... :-) )

Are you saying that in the existing theme there is no way to change the colour of the menu background??

What difference will the update make to the specific question I am trying to resolve?

I have updated the theme using the package install option in Joomla!

Hi,

the navbar in the max demo content is already set to be transparent. It is also enabled on your website.

You can activate the transparent header in the builder. Edit the very first section and you will find the option 'Transparent Header', there you can select the light or dark overlay mode.

UPDATE
In the demo package the navbar does not have a background color because it is set to be transparent. The navigation will get a background color only when it does not overlay the following position.

You can adjust the background color for the navbar when not in overlay mode in the style customizer in the section 'Navbar'

Hendrick,

Thanks for your response. Unfortunately, this doesn't answer my need.

It appears I have used the wrong terminology so let me reword to be totally clear...

Using the "Max" theme, the sample data has an image at the top of the page with a blue background. The Header background also blue to fill the top of the screen with a totally blue background.

I would like to change that image and also change the background colour of the Header Bar to white so the logo and menu are on a white background.

I'd like to understand how I change the background colour of the Header Bar to white (or to any other colour as I use YOOtheme Pro in the future...)

Can you help? I've tried several things but had no effect.

Many thanks!

Hi Hendrick,

Thanks for your update - that now makes complete sense!

How do I change from "overlay mode".

Is there somewhere all this is documented so I can learn the full capabilities and stop pestering you guys?

Have a great weekend!

Dai.

Hendrik/Nemanja,

Having watched the videos from end-to-end (twice) and searched the documentation links, I finally found how to change the background to non-overlaid and changed the background colour.

I can change the background to, say, 'red' and the white/grey main menu items show on the Navbar.

I can change the Navbar font via the Style->Navbar->Nav Item->Font setting but changing the Colour setting just above this in the list has no effect. Hence if I change the Navbar background colour to 'white'

Please advise where I should change the Nav Item text colour so I can change the background colour to 'white' and still have the main menu items visible in, say, black or red on the Header Bar...

Thanks,

Dai.

PS. Update: Subsequent to posting, I have tried changing the Nav Item attributes for Colour, Hover Colour, Onclick Colour and Active Colour plus the Item attribute Colour, all under the Style->Navbar menu - all to no avail. In addition, the 'Save' button is visible but clicking does nothing. If I click 'Close', I am asked "Are you sure?" but cannot save those changes. Any idea why?

Hendrik,

I have updated the theme to 1.3.3.

I did manage to save changes now - thanks.

Can you advise on the main question, please? How do I change the colour of the menu items on the Navbar? (i.e. the main menu display text)

I have tried several of the options in the Style section under Navbar with no effect.

Appreciate all your help so far. My alternative is to change to a YOOtheme Pro template with sample data that already has the colour I want but it seems there should be a way to change this easily without starting again...

Regards,

Dai.

Hendrik,

Thanks for all your help with this.

My problem with changing Navbar menu item colour still exists under the Max theme but I have switched to the Horizon theme which does not exhibit the same problem. At least I now know how the menu item colour change should work.

I don't get any error message using the Max theme so can't believe it's an I/O or permissions error at my end. Any ideas why it doesn't work would be appreciated...

Best of luck.

regards,

Dai.

I have the same issue. It's the newest version too as of today (Version: 1 . 3 . 8) and all I ever get is "saved" on the save button in the page builder for the home page (I'm trying to make the menu NOT transparent) . I can't save a darn thing and it's frustrating the crap out of me. Nothing I do will change it from anything other than saved as if something is locking it.

EDIT: I'm beginning to think there are other issues with this new install, going to dig deeper and see if there's a permission issue or something.

Same issue here! I don't want a transparant menu, just a white one. I cannot find where to change this. When you scroll down, then it turnes into white now, thats ok, but not from the start. Hope someone has the solution after a few months?
