Lazy Loading Maps

Lazy load maps from Google Maps and OpenStreetMap to improve performance, reduce bandwidth and speed up the initial page load.

Lazy Loading Maps

Interactive maps often load external scripts, map tiles and other resources as soon as a page opens. In YOOtheme Pro, maps from Google Maps and OpenStreetMap are lazy loaded by default, so they only load as they enter the viewport.

This keeps the initial page load faster, reduces bandwidth and helps improve PageSpeed and Core Web Vitals, especially on pages with embedded maps further down the layout.

If a map should appear right away, for example in a hero section, you can load it eagerly instead.

In combination with the Cookie Consent Manager, maps are not loaded at all if consent has not been given for Google Maps or OpenStreetMap. Instead, YOOtheme Pro shows a map placeholder image and loads the map only after users actively click the placeholder.
