Lazy or On Click Loading Videos
Load all videos on your site lazy as they enter the viewport, or, for standard videos with controls, load them only after clicking a placeholder image.
To speed up page loading times and decrease traffic, YOOtheme Pro loads videos lazy by default, no matter if it's a section background or a video gallery. They are loaded as they enter the viewport when scrolling. Eager loading, on the other hand, is best for videos in the initial viewport, as they load immediately when the page opens.
But that's not all. You can also load videos on click. The video is first loaded after a placeholder image is clicked instantly replacing it with the video. This also works for embedded iframe videos from YouTube or Vimeo. Here, no external requests will be sent to their servers, and no JavaScript will be loaded until the placeholder image is clicked, which is great for privacy and GDPR.
