JoomlaDay D-A-CH 2024 Review

This year's JoomlaDay D-A-CH just took place in our hometown Hamburg, Germany. On September 20-21, our whole team joined Joomla professionals from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland to share experiences, learn something new, and connect with the community. We supported the event as a gold sponsor and got the opportunity to give an exclusive sneak peek on YOOtheme Pro and upcoming updates. The JoomlaDay was filled with engaging discussions, networking, and fresh ideas. Now, let’s dive into details.

YOOtheme Pro Talks

In our talk Hanna revealed the new features of YOOtheme Pro 4.5, including Live Search, and our upcoming eCommerce theme package. She also showed how you can kickstart your own extensions using the brand-new YOOtheme Pro Starter Plugin, and shared the latest updates on our YOOtheme Experts program.

There were 8 more presentations covering a variety of topics around YOOtheme Pro.

On the first day of the conference, Elisa Foltyn held a presentation on YOOtheme Pro for beginners.

Florian Bauer followed with a showcase of a members' catalog he created with custom elements for YOOtheme Pro and Zoolanders' Essentials extension.

Markus Mauthe discussed the important topic of data privacy and addressing best practices when working with YOOtheme Pro using his own Corporate Tools extension.

Next, Geraint Edwards led a session in English demonstrating the upcoming YOOtheme Pro features of his Easy Layouts extension like menu item specific templates, reusable wrapper templates, reusable sublayouts and more.

Niels Nübel shared how agencies can benefit from YOOtheme Pro to save time and resources.

Dirk Heuser showed how YOOtheme Pro can be used with Joomla to earn extra income part-time.

On the second day, Miljan Aleksic and Daniele Rosario shared their ZOOlanders journey creating Essentials for YOOtheme Pro that has become the reference for YOOtheme 3rd party developers.

It was followed by another session by Miljan Aleksic and Daniele Rosario on their popular Essentials extension for YOOtheme Pro, offering insights into advanced workflows and integrations for more advanced users.

We were really proud to see so many talks and activity around YOOtheme Pro throughout the event.

If you could not make it to this year's JoomlaDay D-A-CH, don't worry, the JoomlaDay organizers will make the presentations available on YouTube in a few months. Of course, we will update this blog post and add them here as soon as possible.

J!Otto Awards

It has become a tradition to announce the winners of the J!Otto awards at the end of the JoomlaDay conference. Each year, Joomla freelancers and agencies have the opportunity to submit their websites and compete for this Community Award. This time we were especially proud that all three winner websites are built with YOOtheme Pro by recommended YOOtheme experts listed on our Experts page. So if you want to join them on our page, submit your company by sending us an email with your best client work.

Community Feedback

What we enjoyed most was the feedback from the community. So many of you approached us to share your thoughts, ideas, and questions. These conversations always give us valuable new perspectives on how the community uses YOOtheme Pro and the day-to-day challenges you face.

Of course, we brought some exclusive t-shirts and cool YOOtheme stickers for the JoomlaDay attendees. On the side note, next year we will make sure to produce more t-shirts 🙈. If you haven't seen them yet, check out our fun swag video!

Joomla, Friends and Fun

A huge "Thank You!" goes to the JoomlaDay organizers. We had a fantastic time connecting with the whole Joomla community. We’re already looking forward to the next JoomlaDay and hope to see you there! As mentioned earlier, we will update this blog post with videos once they become available, so be sure to keep an eye on our social media channels to catch the announcements.

For those who joined us at JoomlaDay, we’d love to hear your feedback! What can we improve for next year? Share your thoughts and ideas in the comments below.
