ZOO adding sort ordering from the front end

Hi,

I use Widgetkit 2 to display Zoo items but the ordering filters in widgetkit (creation date, name, publish dow date, etc.) do not fit my needs.

I would like my clients, who only have access to the front end (Zoo submissions), to sort Zoo items as they want, just like I do in the back end with the "priority order" field, with a priority number. Is there a way to add a priority ordering field in the front end submissions?

Thanks for any answer.

Best regards.

Hi,

no this is not possible unfortunately.
The order priority is not an element type that belongs to an item, therefore it is not a submittable element.

Thanks a lot for your answer Hendrik.

Do you know if there is another way to achieve this (using any element type belonging to an item) ?

Several clients keep asking me to allow them to sort their submissions manually and I find this quite logical actually.

Best regards.

If you create a custom "element", say, item number, and let your clients add a number relative to how they want things ordered, you can then choose this element as a sorting basis when in the Content area of the WidgetKit item.

They just have to remember which items had what ordering number because they will not show in the front end until they want to modify an item.
