New Subscription Model and Pricing Plans

Today we want to announce some upcoming changes to the YOOtheme site. We are introducing a new subscription model with automatic subscription renewals and are updating our pricing plans. The Cart and Checkout as well as the Account pages are updated as well. Let's get right into it.

Subscription Model

As you all know, YOOtheme subscriptions expire if they are not manually renewed in time. Finally, we can offer automatic subscription renewals. The payment will be automatically charged once a year just like you are used to from other services. This simplifies the renewal process as you do not need to take any actions if you want to continue using our products. Of course, as with any subscription, you can cancel and resume it directly in your account.

There are two subscriptions, Widgetkit Standard and ZOO Standard, which only have a duration of 6 months. To only have annual subscriptions, we will change them to 12 months as well.

Our premium icons collection will not be available as a subscription. Instead, we are adding the icons as a bonus to the Theme Developer subscription. Everyone with a Developer subscription will be able to download them.

Pricing Plans

If you have been our customer for a few years, you could see how our products, especially YOOtheme Pro, evolved over the last years. Dynamic content changed the scope of YOOtheme Pro fundamentally. From a simple page builder it developed into the all-in-one solution for building beautiful websites. In addition, YOOtheme Pro has grown into a huge ecosystem with tons of extensions for your site. Yet despite this development, our pricing model for YOOtheme Pro, Widgetkit and ZOO has hardly changed in the last 10 years. In order to reflect these changes and improve our services even further, we are updating our pricing.

With the introduction of automatic renewals, we no longer offer the renewal discount of 20%.

To reflect the new annual duration for Widgetkit Standard subscription, the pricing will change as follows.

Widgetkit Standard: from 39€ (6 months) to 59€ (12 months)
Widgetkit Developer: from 59€ to 79€

The same duration changes apply to the ZOO Standard subscription.

ZOO Standard: from 119€ (6 months) to 159€ (12 months)
ZOO Developer: from 179€ to 199€

In addition, we are also introducing a price increase to our theme subscriptions.

Theme Standard: from 120€ to 129€
Theme Developer: from 300€ to 329€

For most subscriptions this is the first price increase since August 2013. In 2018, we even included Joomla and WordPress into one Theme Developer subscription without any price changes.

We want to give everyone a chance to benefit from the current pricing model before it is discontinued. The relaunch is planned for next week, so you if you want to purchase a new subscription or renew an existing one with the 20% discount, you now have the opportunity to do so.

Next Steps

These changes will help us further develop our products and continue offering you the best possible service. We have some exciting things planned next year and are especially thrilled to start working on rewriting the YOOtheme Pro core technologies – the page builder and the style customizer.
