Lava Theme

Check out Lava, our August 2013 theme release! Inspired by the modern flat style, we cooked up a fresh, clean and spacious design that will serve perfectly to present your company or portfolio site. It is bright, colorful and extremely versatile, making it an excellent blueprint for all kinds of web creations.

This theme is packed with great features. The fluid wrapper is extra-wide and displays beautifully on large screens. A smooth off-canvas navigation lets visitors browse comfortably through your site on their mobile devices. A neat sticky navbar attaches itself to the top of the page when scrolling, so that you can easily reach it from everywhere on the site. Smooth animated buttons, a sliding search and a nice image overlay give an overall modern and interactive feel to the theme. Optionally, modules can spread over the full width of the wrapper, which is great to display images or slideshows "framelessly".

Lava is based on Warp 7 and provides full support for LESS. The front-end is completely built with UIkit and can be modified through the Customizer. You can change colors, spacing and fonts without having to write a single line of code. To get you started, Lava already provides 8 different style variations to choose from.

  • Full UIkit integration
  • 8 pre-built style variations available
  • Customizer with color picker and Google fonts support
  • Beautiful off-canvas navigation for mobile devices
  • Bonus styles for the Widgetkit Slideshow and Slideset
  • All Warp framework features are available

Was waiting for this since 8.00 this mrng. Finaly Yootheme got out of its borders. Like the size and the outline of this one. Great start for us who change the design quite a bite anyway.

    Great job.

It´s not my taste, but it looks clean. The best at this template is the freeze menu. How you did this? Through jQuery? Possible to implement this also at other themes, if yes how?

Taking a good look around the theme now and think it could be a good starting point for my new site - particularly like the sticky nav bar as was going to try to work that into a modified Nano 3.

I am also interested in updates to Zoo as will also be using that for the same project - think an updated Warp, UI kit and Zoo will be an awesome combination!

It seems there is no Widgetkit update with Lava slideshow style? And latest WK update is 10.06.2013...

Besides that - I like Lava...

Hmmm... interesting - feel like this theme's sole purpose is to show off the UIkit more than make a truly exceptional design.

It's very flexible though.... now wondering about the "little" custom styles in there for things like the form bulging on :hover... THAT's not in the UIkit... lol

    Absolutely FANTASTIC!!!!

    +Sticky Menu
    +Flat Design
    +Fluid/Extra-Wide Responsive Width
    +Off Canvas Mobile Nav
    +Header Background Slides
    +More Use of Social
+Of course all the goodness of Wapr7, Customizer, UIkit, etc…
+Animated Buttons, Animated Everything! (PLEASE continue this approach, even the most subtle animations can have a HUGE impact on a design; adding some dynamic interaction helps to bring forward/accent the beauty in the design and keep things from being so static and dry. Very well done!)
    +And More…

We were highly anticipating all of these features, and you really came forward with a modern design approach that we are extremely excited about.

Great Job YOOtheme, really great job!

        Hello yannis.michail,

I'm not sure what the most accurate term for this slideshow might be, officially, but I'll try to explain what I was referring to. The main Slideshow at the top of this new "Lava" theme showcases Warp7, UIkit, and WidgetKit onto of a large image underneath (background image for each slide). Hopefully that explanation made sense.

        Cheers,

The template is a great start to the new warp framework yet it could also be looked at as being limited to some fashion because you position it with a single hero image and that is not practical for most website applications. Digging deeper it is a good base for a flat design. I like it very much.

The Safari issue relates to the iframe in our demo showcase. Just open the actual demo frame in a separate window and it works.

I really like the theme but I am not entirely convinced if the headline "LESS support" is a good phrasing to attract customers.
What about "Support for LESS" instead?

I'm not a coder and actually thought that it was LESS support "'cos there'll be fewer issues with this version of Warp, etc"…what does it stand for…remember that many customers who like Yootheme like Yootheme because they don't have to code their own theme…therefore don't need those skills and don't always know the latest acronym.

Customiser doesn't work when admin tools is installed
if you add template in exceptions and switch off front end and backend protection the customiser will work , implement your changes and when
done switch protection back on seems to solve this.

      Hi Mark
If you use Admin Tools Professional then use .htaccess Maker to add

      templates/yoo_lava/less/customizer.json

      to

Exceptions > Allow direct access to these files

Menu flashes about as it moves in and out of sticky (in Safari - Version 5.1.9 (6534.59.8)) and there's an extra white pixel running all the way down the right hand side of the header image in Chrome Version 28.0.1500.95.

Well, its simple and plain without too much goodies regarding the design part. Coding-wise is great..

However, got 1 question. Ain't this theme SUPER-LAGGY in firefox while scrolling up and down? (Only in firefox.. ). Or, its just me?
    • ozelot

      ozelot

It's only laggy within the iframe.
      Try http://yoocore.com/demo/themes/joomla/2013/lava/
A button to hide the template-changer would be helpful (like competitors do).
The principle of the shown color schemes there is always the same anyway.

Thanks for the reply. You are almost right. When i opened the link you provided, it seemed that lag wasnt there anymore. However, when you "mouse-over" the pictures in the "what we do" section of the homepage, lag is back.

Nice theme, keep up the good work! But I'm still waiting for an updated version of "Royal Plaza". Are you planing on developing a similar theme, with a second menu position "menuright", based on Warp 7 and UIkit and modifiable through the Customizer? It would be great!

looked promising, but the customization is a bit frustrating.
Best way to get what I want to achieve is to use overrides again.
The css classes and html output is not constantly logic.
