UIkit 2.16 – New Dynamic Grid, Lightbox and Accordion
Our first UIkit announcement of 2015 introduces the new Dynamic Grid, Lightbox and Accordion components. But before diving into that, we'd like to mention another milestone in the UIkit history. We hit the 4000 stargazers mark on GitHub! We can not thank you enough for all your support and the constant flow of feedback and suggestions that help us maintain and improve the level of UIkit.
Dynamic Grid
UIkit 2.16 comes with a new JavaScipt based Dynamic Grid component that allows you to create a gap-free multi-column layout utilizing the Grid component and a data attribute. The grid items arrange themselves fluently and seamlessly, adapting the layout to all device sizes. Grid items can be filtered by category, and they can also be ordered ascendingly or descendingly.
Lighbox
In addition to the Modal UIkit now also features a Lightbox component. You can load images as well as videos and switch between multiple items from within the same lightbox to create a gallery-like experience.
Accordion
The Accordion component divides content into a list of items that can be expanded or collapsed by clicking their header. You can open multiple items at once or close one item automatically, once another is opened.
Apart from these new components, UIkit 2.16 provides some additions to existing ones and of course a couple of bugfixes, as usual. As you might have guessed, many of these additions will find their way into Widgetkit 2. So keep your eyes open and don't forget to let us know what you think.
